About School

Mkange Counselling Institute is a community-driven mental health and psychosocial support institution based in Lusaka, Zambia. Founded on principles of professionalism, inclusivity, and social justice, the Institute offers specialized training, direct counseling services, and advocacy programs addressing gender-based violence (GBV), sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), and disability inclusion.

Led by Director and Principal Honest Benjamin Mkandawire, the Institute has pioneered free community mental health counseling, developed TEVETA-compliant gender policies, and launched inclusive initiatives such as autism training programs and multiple graduation ceremonies. With a strong emphasis on ethical practice, institutional branding, and international standards, Mkange Counselling Institute continues to empower survivors, students, and professionals across Zambia and beyond.
